Dining at Anantara Angkor Resort & Spa is an elegant affair, made tastefully engaging by the distinctive flavours of our legendary setting. Known for its aromatic ingredients and vibrant colours, Khmer cuisine uses a variety of herbs and spices, and is influenced by cuisines from across the Indochina region. Guests preferring gourmet western dishes are also spoilt for choice. Early risers wishing to set out for a day of exploration at dawn can enjoy a sunrise breakfast. While romantics will be drawn to Anantara’s signature Dining by Design, which offers the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion.
International and Khmer Cuisine for Dinner
Drawing on local myths and culinary heritage, dining is redefined by engaging elements at The Sothea. Guests are welcomed by a sculpture of legendary Lord Aso with his arms around his beloved wife, depicting the caring and personalised service style. The sophisticated dining room’s handmade brass chandeliers, which were painstakingly recreated by master craftsmen, transform the ceiling into a visual masterpiece, and are reminiscent of the “chats” or umbrellas in Khmer Buddhism which are believed to offer divine protection to royalty. The gastronomic offering is equally evocative, with a menu inspired by the day’s fresh market produce. Refined international dishes are accompanied by a contemporary interpretation of classic Khmer recipes, savoured with nightly dance and music performances.
